MAST II support initiatives
The Commission of the European Communities calls for tenders for supporting initiatives (ocean data and information management)in the context of the specific research and technological development programme in the field of marine science and technology (MAST II, 1991-1994) The support initiatives are envisaged for joint implementation in 1993-1996. The budget of a single initiative will not exceed ECU 300,000; the total budget of all initiatives will not exceed ECU 1.25 million. Four themes are covered: - To give assistance to the Mediterranean Targeted Project and the North Atlantic Targeted Project in the field of date management; - To implement and to apply the technique of electronic data publishing to EC funded marine RTD projects; - To deliver general purpose data products to MAST-II projects; - To study possibilities of reinforcing the European infrastructure for the management of marine data. Preference will be given to specialized consortia of legal persons, private enterprises (in particular small- and medium-sized firms) and public institutions. The tenderers must identify a single coordinator responsible for relations with the Commission. The successful tenderers must be capable of coordinating regularly their work under the contract.
