Council assent to ECSC financial aid
The Council of the European Union assented on 10.12.1993 to two European Commission requests regarding the advisability of allocating revenue from the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC). In the first case, Council Assent No 8/93 enables the Commission to grant financial aid of ECU 2 million to the ECSC research programme in the field of mining technology. In the second case, Assent No 9/93 permits the Commission to grant financial aid of ECU 2,366,314 drawn from ECSC levies to the research programme in the field of coal utilization. This aid is to be distributed with regard to the treatment of liquid and gaseous effluents and the decontamination of industrial waste waters.
