The VALUE Relay Centre (VRC) network of proactive advisory centres, with the mission of bringing Community RTD closer to its clients, has been enlarged.

The network, originally composed of 27 centres in the 12 Member States, has expanded to include five new members from the EEA, namely Austria, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

The enlargement of the VRC network to these countries, from which a large number of companies had already participated in the Community's specific RTD programmes, is expected to be another step towards ensuring that Community research is used effectively to make European organizations more competitive.

The new VRCs participated, for the first time as full members of the network, in the VRC Annual Meeting, which took place in Brussels on 21-23 September 1994.
