The European Commission has issued a call for proposals for the Comenius Individual Pupil Mobility programme. The Comenius Individual Pupil Mobility initiative allows secondary school pupils to spend between 3 and 10 months in a host school and a host family abroad. Pupil mobilities are organised between schools involved in the same Comenius School Partnership. The Comenius Individual Pupil Mobility initiative is based on the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP) Decision which covers the 2007 to 2013 period. The aim of the initiative is to offer European learning experiences to pupils, to develop their understanding of the diversity of European cultures and languages, and to help them acquire competences necessary for their personal development. The programme can also be a valuable international pedagogic experience for the teachers involved in the organisation and implementation of the mobility. On a higher level, the initiative seeks to build sustainable cooperation between the participating schools, enable them to recognise the studies undertaken at the partner school abroad and strengthen the European dimension in school education. Schools which are or have been in the past involved in a Comenius School Partnership are eligible for the Comenius Pupil Mobility initiative. All participating schools must be established in one of the following countries: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Spain, France, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Austria, Finland, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Norway. The level of grants to be awarded, as well as the duration of mobilities, vary depending on the countries and schools organising the pupil mobility. To see the full details of the call, please consult: OJ C236 of 1 September 2010
