Call for proposals 'Joint Programming Coordination 2013'
The European Commission has published its call for proposals 'Joint Programming Coordination 2013', which is coming under the EU's Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). Following the Communication "Towards Joint Programming in Research: working together to tackle common challenges more effectively", the Commission encourages Member States to pursue common visions and strategic research agendas in the domains identified by the High Level Group for Joint Programming (GPC) as suitable for Joint Programming Initiatives (JPIs). The call aims to facilitate, by funding dedicated coordination actions, the JPIs which have reached a satisfactory level of maturity testified by the adoption of a challenge-oriented problem-solving approach, the development of a Strategic Research Agenda, the presence of a governance system commensurate to the tasks and an European added value in terms of scale, scope, effectiveness and/or cost-savings. This action is expected to help establish effective JPI governance structures as well as a sharply focused and realistic strategic research agenda based on the mapping and analysis of the state of the art in the specific field both at European and international level.
