The HubIT Annual Conference is a series of 3 annual conferences which aim is to engage technology industry and social sciences and humanities experts to boost a more responsible approach to information and communication technologies (ICT) research and innovation through constructive interactions among them. What is up for the 2019 edition of the HubIT Conference? In the second edition of the HubIT Annual Conference, hosted by the 4th European Technology Assessment Conference in Bratislava, Slovakia, on November 5, our participants will be able to test hands-on the HubIT Metropolis and all its functionalities: after hearing inspirational stories on synergies between societal needs and technology-oriented innovation from our speakers, participants will be asked to share their experiences and see in which resource of the Metropolis their stories may fit in. Will it be suitable for becoming a Policy Brief? Will it be good content for the HubIT Guidelines? Or will it be a Good Practice? In any case, your experience may become part of the HubIT Metropolis as an online resource and we look forward to hearing your story! Additionally, participants will have the unique opportunity to attend the Conference's networking How will the conference be structured? The conference will take place during the morning and will be moderated by Pietro Rigonat and Catarina Pereira, from LOBA.cx (dissemination & communication leader of HubIT). The opening speech will be done by the HubIT project coordinator, Anneli Roose, from CIVITTA. Next, Rajesh Sharma, senior researcher from the University of Tartu, will give an inspirational talk about the pressing need of interaction between technology stakeholders and social sciences and humanities stakeholders. The session will be followed by a demo of the HubIT platform and its tools that aim to facilitate this interaction, carried out by the project's consortium partners. It will be followed by a Q&A session. Next, participants will be able to share their stories, best practices or even tools on bringing together ICT and SSH for a chance to see them included in the HubIT Metropolis platform. Finally, participants will have the chance to attend meetings with the people they selected to network prior to the event, including HubIT consortium partners. During the whole event participants will have the opportunity to showcase their projects through a poster session*. *Are you or your project willing to showcase research results and recent objectives achieved? During HubIT Annual Conference 2019, all participants will be able to provide at the HubIT registration desk a poster outlining your main results. Why? Because you will have the chance to present them at the Knowledge exchange session (11:40 – 12:00) and meet the authors of the speech you find most interesting during the final Networking Session!
