Council adopts Resolution on telecommunications
On 18 September 1995, the Economic and Financial Council (ECOFIN) formally adopted a Resolution setting up the future regulatory framework for telecommunications. The adoption follows an agreement reached at an earlier ECOFIN session on 13 June 1995. The Resolution will form the basis for negotiations on this sector within the World Trade Organization. It is the result of lengthy discussions on the second part of the Commission's Green Paper on liberalizing infrastructures for telecommunications and cable television networks.
