Biotechnology Progress Report 1995
The European Commission, DG XII, has published the latest progress report, 1995, on the Community's specific RTD programme in the field of biotechnology (1990-1994), adopted under the Third Framework programme for research and technological development. The report reviews the research activities carried out under the programme. It is conceived as a compendium of project reports, summarizing their most important findings. It thus provides researchers, industrialists and other interest groups with access to the key information on each project. The report provides information on 133 projects funded under the Biotechnology programme. Research areas covered include: - Protein structure and function; - Gene structure; - Gene expression; - Cellular regeneration, reproduction and development of living organisms; - Metabolism of animals, plants and microbes: essential physiological traits; - Communication systems within living matter; - Ecological implications of biotechnology; - Conservation of genetic resources; - Information infrastructure.
