The European Commission, DG VIII, has launched a call for expressions of interest for technical assistance for a national hydrogeological study in the Dominican Republic.

The study will be carried out within the framework of the Dominican Republic's geological and mining development programme. In general terms, the study will cover the following areas:

- Groundwater table delimitation;
- Establishment of an exploratory and groundwater pumping plan;
- Contamination and salinization controls;
- Resource evaluation with regard to mineral and medicinal waters.
