The European Commission, DG XVI, wishes to secure the assistance of an internationally-oriented body to promote and organize transnational activities and exchanges of experience at a Community level within the framework of the SME Community initiative and the industrial change Community initiatives (RECHAR II, RESIDER II, RETEX and KONVER II). The body selected will be required to undertake the following tasks (details provided in the tender specifications): - Create and update a directory of contacts involved in implementing these Community initiatives and existing networks, at a regional, national and Community level, which support SMEs and/or are involved in industrial reconversion in the relevant sectors; - Create and update an "info-pack" of existing Community measures within the framework of regional policies (regional and sectoral operational programmes, Community initiatives and Article 10 ERDF pilot projects) which, directly or indirectly, assist SMEs; - Undertake preparatory work with a view to establishing an exchange-of-experience programme, in particular for members of the directory; - Monitor and organize the implementation of the above exchange-of-experience programme; - Dissemination of information: meetings, seminars, bulletins, etc.; - Reports. The contract will be concluded for an initial period of two years, and may be renewed for a further two years by written agreement no later than 30 September 1998. The maximum duration is four years.
