AIR - Non-food projects
The Agro-industrial Research Unit of the European Commission, DG XII, has published a catalogue of projects in the non-food sector supported by the European Community's specific RTD programme in the field of agriculture and agro-industry, including fisheries (AIR), part of the Third RTD Framework Programme from 1990-1994. The book provides information on 133 projects in the non-food sector funded following three calls for proposals, and is a guide to EC-funded research in this area. The projects cover the following areas: - Biomass for energy; - Green chemicals and polymers; - Forestry and forest products; - Inputs for non-food crops. The activities of the AIR programme are now part of the areas covered by the FAIR programme, the specific programme in the field of agriculture and fisheries (including agro-industry, food technologies, forestry, aquaculture and rural development), of the Fourth RTD Framework Programme.
