CEEC participation in the ESPRIT programme
Under the Fourth Framework Programme, the ESPRIT programme (specific RTD programme in the field of Information Technologies) is open to legal entities established in third countries, on a project-by-project basis, without financial support from the programme. Financial support is, however, provided under another programme, the Community's specific programme in the field of cooperation with third countries and international organizations (INCO), for participants from the countries of Central and Eastern Europe (CEEC). In order to stimulate the participation of entities from these countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Poland and Romania) in ESPRIT actions, it has been assured that sufficient budget will be available from the IT share of the INCO programme to support CEEC participation in ESPRIT calls up to the end of 1997. In order to receive such support, CEEC entities must: - Be partners in an ESPRIT proposal which is chosen for funding; - Give full budget information; - State that support is being requested from the INCO programme.
