LIFE-Environment projects selected
The European Commission, DG XI, has selected 104 projects for co-funding under the Environment sector of the LIFE financial instrument for the environment. The projects were selected from a total of 601 proposals from across the EU. The selected projects are spread across the three priority areas of the LIFE-Environment 1996 call: - Innovative and demonstration actions for industry (45 projects); - Demonstration, promotion and technical assistance actions for local authorities (46 projects); - Preparatory actions to support Community legislation and policies (13 projects). Particular themes are evident in each of these areas, with industry and local authorities playing key roles as the Commission believes is necessary for the achievement of sustainable development.
