Notice to the Member States laying down guidelines for operational programmes in the framework of a Community initiative concerning the most remote regions (REGIS), which Member States are invited to establish. The reason for the initiative is the need to undertake development measures complementary to those agreed under the Community Support Frameworks to speed up adaptation of the economies of the recipient regions so that they may be better integrated into the European Community's internal market.
