Network of nosocomial infections
The European Commission, DG V, has published an invitation to tender relating to the development of a network concerning nosocomial infections involving the 15 Member States. This invitation to tender concerns the inventory of all initiatives enabling the surveillance network for nosocomial infections to be developed, both at Member State and Community levels. This evaluation will include among others: - A detailed analysis of the existing surveillance systems in each Member State, especially emphasizing the mechanisms developed by the Member States for monitoring the evolution of antibiotic resistance; - A detailed description of the pathologies covered, and the mechanisms implemented for identifying infectious agents involved in these infections; - An analysis of the nosocomial infection control methods implemented in each Member State.
