Pilot projects on tourism and the environment
The Commission of the European Communities invites proposals with a view to supporting pilot projects in the field of tourism and the environment. Proposals should concern practical transnational projects in the field of sustainable and environmentally-sensitive tourism (i.e. tourism development conceived in a way which allows renewal or regeneration and/or prevents over-exploitation of the non-renewable resources upon which the tourism industry depends for its livelihood). The Commission intends to use the selected projects for demonstration purposes. Project organizers must therefore produce a comprehensive report outlining the results and conclusions of their project, and may also be required to make a Conference presentation.
