Biotechnology programme approved by European Parliament
At the second reading, on 11 February 1992, of the Commission's proposal for a Council Decision adopting a specific research and technological development programme in the field of biotechnology, 1990 to 1994 (COM(91) 386 of 18.10.1991) the European Parliament approved the research programme with amendments including a call for the elaboration of "European Ethical Guidelines" with respect to all aspects of biotechnology.
