Producing energy from zero-emission fossil fuel plants requires joint research and cooperation at many levels. The EU-funded project 'Zeffpp Secretariat' (ZEST) successfully established an office or secretariat for the Zero Emission Fossil Fuel Power Plant Technology Platform (ETP-ZEP). ZEST supported the activities of the ETP-ZEP, also known simply as the Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP). The project focused on assisting its administration, management and communication issues. It offered methods and tools to further joint action and progress in new generation zero-emission power plants. The body operates in line with the EU's policy objectives on environmental and industrial levels, coordinating with experts in the field when required. To ensure the best possible management of the ZEP and to support scientific and industrial cooperation, ZEST employed independent experts in the energy field from major multinational companies. In this way, the project was able to successfully provide a myriad of valuable services required by ETP-ZEP. It strengthened the platform and ensured that different types of stakeholders contributed to the objectives of the project and of the ZEP. Progress in the field, which emerged from the project, was disseminated through seminars and meetings, as well as through relevant publications. An informative project website was also established to disseminate information and highlight progress related to the ZEP.
