e-Locus, for a better integration of the individual at workplace
In a context of respect for the objectives of each specific project and with the intention of facilitating synergies between them, e-Locus focuses on the person. Taking the person as a whole, the person integrated at workplace and how to improve that integration incorporating innovative technologies to the process as the start point, research areas such as workplace design, organisational internal communication, organisational knowledge management, emotional intelligence and team work management will be explored, thus conforming a holistic view of the integration of the person at workplace. e-Locus cluster will evaluate to which extent those issues are being taken into account or not, when designing the equipment and technologies for the future. The work to be carried out is divided into three main cross tasks: a qualitative data gathering, a dissemination action plan and the definition of scenarios. The qualitative data gathering work will be organised in what we call Reflection Groups on specific and different themes addressed by the different projects, to distinguish work areas inside the workspace design area and find out how do they take the human factor into consideration. The result of the measuring will be compiled in a Synergy Matrix. The purpose of the matrix will be to provide a step-by-step tool, or filter which will serve to design or to audit any project in order to guarantee maximum coverage of important concepts and criteria related to the person. The second main cross task will consist on the dissemination of the cluster projects results and of the cluster work (different communication strategies and tools will be used, such as www.basqueresearch.com to periodically publish the results, or the creation and maintenance of a web http://e-locus.fundaciontekniker.com). It will also be organized a periodic cluster event open to public audience. Describing some Model Scenarios, e-Locus will open the way to solve concrete problems to allow a greater integration of all people, regardless of gender, place of birth, age or handicap, in the future ambient intelligence environment now being designed. The new tools, space and ways of working are and will also be part of our lives outside of work. e-Locus will also discuss how to continue the work in FP6 under the premise the individual has the control of the technology. Some of the ideas already discussed are to constitute a network of excellence (as instrument in FP6), to develop ideas and partnership for a later IP proposal and, in general, to open new research paths in this area,Contact : ,Irene Lopez de Vallejo Garcia ,Fundacion TEKNIKER ,ivallejo@tekniker.es ,(+34) 943 206744 www.tekniker.es
