,On the occasion of European Union participation in the Nano Tech 2003+ Future Conference and Expo, the leading global event on nanotechnologies, Ezio Andreta, Director for Industrial Technologies, DG Research, European Commission, and keynote speaker at the Conference, will hold a special briefing for the media.
This timely briefing will focus on the European Union's decisive involvement in nanotechnology, and on the best ways to reinforce international cooperation in this crucial area. With EUR 700 million EU funding (matched by at least as much from other public and private sources), nanotechnology is a key priority of the EU 6th Framework Programme for research and of the European Research Area, and a prime candidate for international cooperation.
