Academic Year 2003/2004 - Innovative Biennal Acacemic Postgraduate Degrees on Science & Arts

Two new post graduate education courses on "Music, Sound Science & Technologies" and "Visual Arts, Communication, Image Science & Technologies" are being launched in Italy to join traditional artistic know-how with the scientific disciplines and the knowledge of advanced electronic, information and multimedia technologies so as to create new innovative specialised professional profiles.

For the Academic year 2003/2004 the "International Polytechnic Scientia et Ars" scarl based in Vibo Valentia (South of Italy) is launching, for the first time in Italy, two biennial postgradute education courses to obtain the Academic Diploma. The II level diploma are described in the following: "MUSIC, SOUND SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGIES" ,(1) Executive-orchestral,,(2) Scientific-technological & ,(3) Didactic "VISUAL ARTS,COMMUNICATION, IMAGE SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGIES" ,(1) Composition-Artistic, ,(2) Scientific-Technological, ,(3) Didactic Prof. Orazio Barra, a University Physics professor and fine jazz musician, initiated these new training programmes. He is also the President of the Polytechnic. The two courses are highly innovative and distributed in two years with the obligation of 120 University credits to achieve the II level University degree. The aim is to join traditional artistic knowledges with highly innovative scientific and technological know-how to create new professional figures with a high employment potential as well as high qualification for teaching & research. Access to 'Executive-Orchestral' and 'Composition-Artistic' is reserved to students having either Conservatory or Fine Arts Academy Diplomas (or Europoean equivalent). The other paths are accessible to students having the same titles or University Bachelor degree (or European equivalent).
