Workplace air monitoring
"Clean air at work: New trends in assessment and measurement for the 1990s" is published for the Commission of the European Communities by the Royal Society of Chemistry (UK). It contains the proceedings of an International Symposium held in Luxembourg on 9-13 September 1991, organized by the Health and Safety Directorate (DG V) of the Commission and by the Community Bureau of Reference (DG XII). Papers review the state of the art and predict future needs in the field of assessment and measurement relating to occupational hygiene and indoor air quality, and identify major areas of developing interest. The importance of cooperation in Europe in the field of workplace air monitoring is increasingly apparent. The book is intended to promote cooperation in the setting of standards, method development and appraisal, measurement quality initiatives, and information management. Health and safety is also covered at European level. A summary contains conclusions and recommendations for further action.
