Congress Series 2006 Good Practices in Europe for Supporting Women Starters
Women are active in starting up businesses, but, when compared with their male counterparts they are often under-represented. Advisory services and programmes tailored to women’s needs can help, but it is equally as important to offer decision makers a forum during which they can exchange experience and learn from others.
The series of congresses that are scheduled to take place in 2006 will present
- Successful examples and results of the EU-financed project "ProWomEn - Promotion of Women Entrepreneurship" as well as good practices that have been identified since the end of ProWomEn and will explore the opportunities of transferring good practices to other German regions.
- The transfer of know-how and business contacts.
Congress attendees will be advisory service organisations and decision makers responsible for consulting and supporting women entrepreneurs. The events are supported by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and organised by Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum - Innovation Relay Centre Stuttgart-Erfurt–Zürich, Germany.
The congresses are organised in co-operation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs of Baden-Württemberg, the National Women Starters Agency - “bundesweiten gründerinnenagentur (bga)”, THÜRINGEN innovativ GmbH, Gesellschaft für innovative Beschäftigungsförderung (G.I.B. NRW) and ZukunftsAgentur Brandenburg (ZAB).
Each congress begins with a dinner with networking opportunities followed by the congress on the next morning. Participation at individual congresses costs € 80 + VAT when individually booked. Participation at all four events costs € 200 + VAT. The conference language is German, however presentations made in English will be translated to German.
