Forum on "FET directions in FP7"
- get direct feedback on the current draft of FET directions in FP7
- have the research community suggest new priorities and propose topics of their own interest.
The Forum will see the participation of Dr. Fabrizio Sestini, Scientific Officer of the FET Unit - DG Information Society, European Commission - who will discuss the program and present the guidelines for participation in the specific areas to be funded within the 7th Framework Programme.
The second part will be devoted to an open discussion of what the community would like to see in FP7. It will provide researchers and their institutions with an opportunity for direct feedback to the program and for proposing specific new areas of research for potential inclusion.
Ongoing consultations (http://cordis.europa.eu/ist/fet/id.htm(öffnet in neuem Fenster)) are running in the following areas:
- Pervasive Computing and Communications;
- Nanoelectronics and Nanotechnologies;
- Security, Dependability and Trust; Bio-ICT Synergies;
- Intelligent and Cognitive Systems; Software Intensive Systems;
- Quantum Information Processing and Communication;
- Complexity Research.
This workshop is part of an ongoing activity by the European Commission (DG InfSo, unit "Future Emerging
Technologies") to define long-term research priorities. It is open to participation by all interested parties from the academia, research institutions and industry.
