Answers to the question "How do Japanese companies transform an innovative idea into a marketable product" is the raison d'être for the Market and Production Strategy programme of the European Office of the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation. The market and production strategy programme is aimed to provide insights into Japanese modes of innovation and will next take place in Japan between 5 and 15 July 1999.

The programme includes lectures, seminars, case studies, teamwork and company visits.

The EU-Japan Centre covers all costs related to the programme (such as events and transportation costs during field trips). However, applicants must be put forward by their company, which is expected to cover travel costs to and from Japan and living expenses including accommodation. The EU-Japan Centre estimates that living expenses will be about 1000 euro per week.
