ITRIBIS project workshop

The ITRIBIS project will hold a workshop entitled: ‘Global spread of carbapenemase-producing Gramnegative Bacilli: a major challenge for treatment and infection control’ from 19 to 20 January 2016, in Seville, Spain.

19 January 2016 - 20 January 2016
Seville, Spain
The ITRIBIS project will hold a workshop to explore issues relating to antimicrobial resistance at the Institute of Biomedicine of Seville. ITRIBiS aims to make the Institute a key reference centre for biomedical translational research into prevalent diseases in Southern Europe. The agenda of the workshop will appeal to researchers, health system employees and scientists interested in infections caused by multi-drug resistant bacteria.

Topics to be covered include: health impacts and clinical investigation of carbapenemases producing Enterobaceriaceae; new molecular tools for studying carbapenem-resistance; the relationship between carbapenemases and virulence; therapeutic alternatives for carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae; and infection prevention and control measures.
