INSEC International Workshop

The INSEC (www.insec-project.eu) project is striving to improve the Innovation and Research processes within security organisations, enabling them to evaluate novel approaches and services as well as new technologies dedicated to the safety of citizens.
The project has developed:
- An internal innovation management model which will allow security organisations to better manage both the financial impacts and the added value of innovation projects.
- An innovation platform (http://platform.insec-project.eu(si apre in una nuova finestra)) to promote networking between European security SMEs and public/private security organisations.
To share good practices in the field of innovation management, a major European-scale event took place in Oslo, Norway in March 2013 and another large event is planned to take place in Paris in November 2013.
The next INSEC International workshop “BEST PRACTICE OPEN INNOVATION PLATFORM FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF INNOVATION MANAGEMENT WITHIN SECURITY ORGANISATIONS IN EUROPE”, will take place on 19th of November 2013 from 09:45 to 17:00 in Paris, France.
The workshop will focus on exchange and promotion of innovation management best practices within the security sector. A brief agenda is as follows (a buffet lunch will be served):
- Brief overview of INSEC and presentations of achievements so far
- Creating a Best Practice online Hub that drives innovation
- Best Practice Presentations by identified end-user Security organisations, focusing on how they innovate, and which methods and techniques they use
- Expert Panel feedback sessions
The workshop will be organised as an interactive event giving participants the opportunity for discussion and exchange of experience. Speakers will include: INSEC Partners; External Innovation Experts; Security end-user representatives of best practices.

Please note that the European Commission is organising a separate event during Milipol Paris, on 20-21 November 2013 (http://en.milipol.com/Show-features/European-Commission(si apre in una nuova finestra)). This will provide the stage to launch the Horizon 2020 Secure Societies Challenge and to have a session on the EU broader activities on Security Industrial Policy.
