The Global Investigative Journalism Conference 2017 (GIJC17) is the 10th global conference and for the first time it is to be held in Africa. Over 120 panels, workshops, and special events will be held. The conferences, known for being hands-on, will feature winners of the Pulitzer and European Press Prizes, data journalism pioneers, and top investigative reporters from around the world ready to share their skills and secrets.

Among the events will be sessions on investigative techniques, online sleuthing, data analysis, and cross-border reporting. There will be time for networking, brainstorming, and collaborative thinking. ICIJ’s Panama Papers team will be there, as will cross-border sleuths from the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project. Themes include data, corruption, finance, security and more, along with special sessions on human trafficking and LGBTQ issues.

INJECT was set up as an aid for journalists to help them find not only accurate sources of information but also unexpected angles for stories. The platform has also streamlined a workflow, allowing journalists to easily build articles instantly, without the need to switch between documents or browser tabs.
