Online event: COMPACT Digital Service Act Symposium

COMPACT is a coordination and support action funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme. A significant part of our work is to increase awareness, to spin conversation and to link the stakeholders in the domain of media convergence.
Digital Service Act, proposed by the EC, aims at addressing major issues related to large social media platforms - hate speech, public discourse and democracy as well as the dominance of gatekeeper platforms in certain markets. The expected, extended date of the announcement is December 15th, 2020.
Since our work, at COMPACT, is supported by the EC we are collecting feedback on the upcoming DSA package coming from different parts of the EU to build a comprehensive multi-stakeholder perspective. To achieve that we organise dedicated local online symposia in different regions at the same time. We invite policymakers, academics, experts and industry to come together and to discuss the upcoming proposal.
The common international event will be hosted online on the 17th of December at 4:00 PM IST (Dublin Time) until 5:15 PM IST.
Our events are publicly streamed online and are feeding our public reports and our analyses submitted to the European Commission.
