European photovoltaic (PV) solar energy conference and exhibition

The 12th European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition will be held in Amsterdam on 11-15 April 1994.
The conference is supported by the European Commission and is organized by NOVEM, the Netherlands agency for energy and the environment. The growth of the conference in recent years reflects the increasing importance of PV as an energy source. The number of abstracts received for the conference is 706 from 58 countries and the number of papers to be presented at the conference is 575. Plenary lectures will provide an overview of the current situation in the following areas:
- Silicon cells;
- PV modules;
- PV in developing countries;
- PV in buildings;
- Ground-based arrays;
- Thin film devices;
- National programmes.
A two-day symposium during this conference, on PV in developing countries, will address the key problems, largely non-technical, which obstruct the widespread introduction of PV in these countries. There will also be an open day for professionals from the utility sector, such as architects, builders, planners and other non-PV professionals.
