European Symposium on Optics for productivity in Manufacturing

The European Symposium on Optics for productivity in manufacturing will take place in Frankfurt on 20-24 June 1994. The symposium is being sponsored by DG XII of the European Commission, the European Optical Society (EOS) and the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE) and will include the following conferences:
- Laser material processing;
- Integration strategies for industrial optical systems;
- Sensors and control fro advanced automation;
- Robotics for Nuclear environment;
- Optical measurements and sensors for the process industries;
- Industrial applications of laser radar;
- Automated visual inspection.

Recent developments in optical technologies have considerable potential for improving productivity. This symposium will provide an up-to-date review of the many ways in which optical radiation is being, and could be, applied. Advances in high speed materials processing, manufacturing systems control and product inspection and measurement will also be discussed.
