Workshop on data visualisation and integration in enterprises, Hersonissou, Greece
Recent years have seen a proliferation of semi-structured, structured, and semantically annotated data on the internet. Contextually, the availability of a wide spectrum of high-level data integration tools, such as (enterprise) mash-up platforms, have offered to developers and end users the means to integrate such data.
The nature and abundance of structured data shifts the nature of user interactions from model-based navigation of documents to paradigms that leverage the exploration of object repositories. In such a context, providing a satisfactory user experience has proven to be a challenging task for application developers.
As a consequence, a deeper understanding of data integration, visualisation and user interaction issues is becoming more and more compelling in applications design and development.
The aim of the workshop will be to bring together researchers and practitioners to explore the feasibility of using and combining different approaches to create effective web and enterprise applications where the integration, visualisation and interaction with data is a main concern, as well as to identify additional requirements needed in order to apply these methods and techniques to existing design and development environments. For further information, please visit:
