Training course on radon indoor risk and remedial actions

In the framework of the European Radiation Protection Education and Training Programme (ERPET), the European Commission, DG XII, in collaboration with the Swedish Radiation Protection Institute, is organizing a training course on "Radon indoor risk and remedial actions" on 10-15 September 1995 in Stockholm.

The course will provide:

- An overview of knowledge on radon, including the scientific basis and practical methods of monitoring and mitigation;
- Information on recent and current developments in the radon field.

The following topics will be covered:

- Physical foundation;
- Measurements;
- Health effects;
- Investigation and mitigation;
- Recommendations and limits.

The course is aimed at young scientists who are involved in the problems of indoor exposure to radon. It is also directed at those responsible for the general management of radon issues and for the teaching of its principles.

The course will be give at university level, with a knowledge in basic physics assumed.
