Radiation risk, risk perception and social constructions

An international seminar on "Radiation risk, risk perception and social constructions" will be held in Oslo, Norway, on 19-20 October 1995. The seminar is being organized by the Norwegian Radiation Protection Authority and the Swedish Radiation Protection Institute and is supported by Directorate General XII of the European Commission.

The major themes of the seminar will be :

- Risk in the modern society;
- Risk philosophy of radiation protection;
- Risk perception and social constructions;
- Communication and information.

The objective of the seminar is to bring together scientists from different disciplines working on risk research, in particular radiation risk research, with a view to stimulating research activities in this field and promoting multi-institutional projects combining quantitative and qualitative methods.
