A European Forum for SMEs entitled "Business on the Web" will be held in Paris, France, on 9-10 May 1996, as part of the fifth international World Wide Web conference. The forum is organized by the French National Institute for Research in Computer Sciences and Robotics (INRIA), and the European Commission.

The business on the Web forum will give SMEs the opportunity to see the latest technology and market trends. It will also provide an overview of legal, security, and cost issues, both today and in the future.

SMEs who are not currently using the Web, and those who are, will be able to see examples of how other companies have used the Web successfuly in their businesses, and receive training in practical issues related to the web.

The announcement of the European WWW Business Award 1996 winner will also be made at the forum. This award was created to generate visibility for the best business implementation of the WWW, and more generally, European achievements in this area.
