Electronic commerce seminar
During the seminar, the EWOS Expert Group on electronic data interchange will present a definition of, and technical framework for, electronic commerce usable by all market actors, based on the user requirements expressed at its "Electronic commerce" event in 1995. The aim is to demonstrate the use of the technical framework in helping to rethink business processes and to change approaches to trading partner relationships.
The seminar will provide examples of strategy development and implementation experiences from a wide range of business sectors including publishing, retail, railways, finance, information technology, telecommunications, customs, and regional and national governments. It will report on the latest electronic commerce initiatives instigated by the US and Japanese governments, and will provide updates by the European Commission on support for SMEs, and developments from a regulatory viewpoint.
In addition, a facilitated interactive session will enable participants to put their electronic commerce experiences in context, with the support of an expert panel.
