The Oil and Gas Information Conference, OGIC'96, will be held in Stavanger, Norway, on 6-7 June 1996. It is organized by the Forum for Petroleum Institute, in cooperation with Edinburgh's Heriot-Watt University and the Petroleum Science and Technology Institute.
The conference will examine the role of information and information technology in the field. In particular, it will focus on two key themes: "Information" and "Change: The key to survival". Other topics will include petroleum libraries, record management, document centres and geological data storage.
In addition, a variety of equipment and software vendors will display and demonstrate their products. The European Commission will present the SESAME database, as well as a hands-on demonstration of the CORDIS CD-ROM.
