Regional policy of Information Society and telecommunications

A European summer school on "Regional policy of the Information Society and telecommunications" will be held in Alicante, Spain, from 23 to 26 September 1996.

The school aims to introduce policy-makers from regional authorities to areas of interest in the development of regional strategies and plans for the Information Society and telecommunications. In addition, the summer school will present the experiences of the Inter-regional Information Society Initiative (IRISI), an initiative of the European Commission, DG XIII and DG XVI.

The school programme will include sessions on EC policy and on the components of a regional policy, as well as case studies of regional projects.
