Fourth World Conference on Injury Prevention and Control

The Fourth World Conference on Injury Prevention and Control will be held in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, from 17 to 20 May 1998. It is organized by the World Health Organization with support from DG V, DG VII and DG XXIV of the European Commission.

The aim of the conference is to build partnerships, by providing a framework for participants to share experiences in developing, promoting and evaluating policies and legislation for safety promotion and accident prevention. The conference will cover five major areas of injury:

- Transport;
- Occupational;
- Home and leisure;
- Sport;
- Intentional/violent.
