International telecommunications exhibitions and conferences

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is holding a series of major exhibitions and conferences on telecommunications in the next three years.
Asia Telecom '97 will take place in Singapore from 9 to 14 June 1997. This will be the fourth Asia Telecom exhibition, and exhibition space is expected to be at a premium. The theme of the conference will be "The Asian routes to the Global Information Society".
Telecom Interactive '97 will take place in Geneva, Switzerland, from 8 to 14 September 1997, and will showcase new developments in technologies and services such as the World Wide Web, broadband services, multimedia applications, intranets, network computers and online publishing. The theme for the forum will be "Towards a strategic planning for the Global Information Society".
Telecom Africa '98 takes place in Midrand, South Africa, from 4 to 10 May 1998. It will provide an opportunity to exhibit products in one of the fastest growing telecommunications markets. The theme for the forum has not yet been decided.
World Telecom '99 will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from 10 to 17 October 1999. This exhibition, held every four years, will display the latest telecommunications technology, taking account of the increasing globalization of telecommunications. The theme for the forum is likely to be decided in early 1997.
