Transport Research Information Day

The European Commission, DG VII, is organizing an "Information Day" relating to the third call for proposals for the specific RTD programme in the field of transport. The "Transport Research Information Day" will be held in Brussels, Belgium, on 11 December 1996.

The third call for proposals for the Transport programme is due to be launched on 17 December 1996, with a deadline for proposal submission of 17 March 1997. The aim of the day is to give potential applicants a better understanding of the areas and requirements of this call. In addition, participants will be able to meet and exchange information with potential research partners, on the basis of a catalogue of participants which will be circulated before the meeting.

The day will be introduced by Mr. Wim Blonk, the Director responsible for research in DG VII (Transport), and will include sessions on:

- The research areas to be covered by the third call;
- Results of the first and second calls;
- The Commission Task Forces in the area of transport;
- COST activities in the area of transport;
- Questions relating to evaluation and contract negotiation procedures;
- Individual workshops on the seven sub-programmes.
