The Association of German Technology and Business Incubation Centres (ADT) is holding its eighth annual conference in Berlin, Germany, on 7-9 November 1996. The conference, entitled "Prospects for business creation, collaboration and growth of innovative enterprises in Europe", will focus on existing schemes for the promotion of innovation in Germany, Europe and internationally.

The conference programme will include a presentation by the European Commission (Jean-Claude Venchiarutti, DG XIII) on "The European Network for Innovation" (Innovation Relay Centres). Other presentations will include:

- Networking in Europe: cooperation to support regional development (European Association for Information on Local Development - AEIDL);
- The network of science parks (International Association of Science Parks - IASP);
- IBIS: International Business Incubation Systems (United Nations Industrial Development Organization - UNIDO).

Examples of existing schemes for the promotion of innovation and business creation will also be presented within the framework of a series of workshops. These will include representatives from the many German initiatives in this area but will also feature presentations from other EU and East European countries.
