23rd International Small Business Conference (ISBC)

The 23rd International Small Business Conference (ISBC) will be held in Athens, Greece, from 24 to 27 November 1996. The theme of the conference will be "Globalization and SMEs".

Topics to be discussed at the conference, which will be opened by Mr. Christos Papoutsis, European Commissioner responsible for enterprise policy, will include:

- Economic and trade agreements: opportunities and threats;
- Government initiatives towards SME globalization and competitiveness;
- European Union strategy for SME globalization;
- The Information Society and SMEs;
- Financial aspects of globalization for SMEs;
- Forms of partnership for SMEs;
- Impact on human resources.
