G7 Global marketplace for SMEs conference

The first annual conference of the G7 Information Society project "Global Marketplace for SMEs" will take place in Bonn, Germany from 7 to 9 April 1997. The theme of the conference will be "Electronic Commerce".

The conference, which is being coordinated by the European Commission on behalf of the G7 members, will provide practical information, aimed at business users, on the following subjects:

- Electronic commerce for SMEs in the Information Society: changes in industry, services and public bodies;
- Building the global marketplace: challenges and building blocks in the use of electronic commerce for doing business in the global marketplace;
- Electronic commerce at work: exploration of real-life business cases and practical experiences with electronic commerce.

Furthermore, all participants will have the possibility of getting hands-on experience with electronic commerce applications on the market today thanks to the electronic marketplace and exhibition. Enterprises interested in participating in the exhibition and/or the electronic marketplace are requested to contact the D3 Group who are organizing the event.

"Global Marketplace for SMEs" is an international collaborative project launched by the G7 countries at the G7 Ministerial Conference on the Information Society, in Brussels, in February 1995. The project has set up a global business information network and supports international pilots and testbeds and investigates barriers to electronic commerce.
