Global business infrastructure 2000

A conference entitled "Global business infrastructure 2000" will take place in The Hague, The Netherlands, from 2 to 4 April 1997.

The conference is intended for senior managers from government and industry, with an interest in the business, policy and technical developments that will influence the development and use of the global business information infrastructures of the 21st century, paving the way for an open, secure, global electronic commerce environment.

The programme for the conference will cover subjects such as:

- International cryptography and trusted information systems;
- Electronic commerce;
- Building the global marketplace.

Speakers will present the views of governments and industry, on technical, legal and practical questions relating to the development of global business networks. Speakers from the European Commission will outline the experiences and activities of the European Community, particularly results of Community-funded research, in the field.
