The European Science Foundation (ESF) has published an updated programme of European Research Conferences (EURESCO) covering conferences planned for late 1997 and early 1998. The conferences, which are supported by the Euroconferences activity, part of the European Community's Training and Mobility of Researchers programme (TMR), will take place throughout Europe and cover a range of scientific areas.

The following lists the current programme by area, giving conference titles, dates and locations:

. Electromagnetic interactions with nucleons and nuclei - Electromagnetic structure of hadrons and nuclei: Santorini, Greece, 21-26 October 1997;

- Geosciences:
. Oceanography - Living with uncertainty in coastal seas: San Feliu de Guixols, Spain, 6-10 December 1997;
. Space-time modelling of bounded natural domains - Virtual environments for the geosciences: Kerkrade, The Netherlands, 9-14 December 1997;

- Chemistry:
. Organic electrochemistry - Moving towards clean and selective synthesis: Oxford, UK, 15-19 April 1998;
. Supramolecular chemistry - Advanced materials: Kerkrade, The Netherlands, 10-15 September 1998;

- Life sciences:
. Biophysics of cytoskeleton: Obernai, France, 22-27 April 1998;
. Neural mechanisms of learning and memory - Dynamics of the trace: Acquafredda di Maratea, Italy, 9-14 May 1998;

- Biomedicine and health:

The conferences are open to researchers worldwide. The emphasis will be on discussion of new developments. Grants will be available for younger scientists, in particular those from less favoured regions in Europe. Applications to participate in the EURESCO conferences must be submitted at least three to four months before the conference.
