EMMSEC 97 - European Multimedia, Microprocessor Systems and Electronic Commerce

EMMSEC 97, the annual European Multimedia, Microprocessor Systems and Electronic Commerce conference and exhibition, will take place in Florence, Italy, from 3 to 5 November 1997. The conference is organized within the framework of the ESPRIT programme, and addresses three of the programme's domains.
The conference aims to show how emerging technologies in the fields of microprocessors, multimedia and electronic commerce can generate new business ideas and opportunities. In particular, it will help delegates to learn of new developments, exchange information and experiences and make and renew contacts.
Plenary sessions will address the following topics:
- New business from new technology;
- Government research funding;
- New technology for new business.
In addition to the plenary sessions, a wide range of smaller seminars and workshop sessions will be held. Examples include a session outlining the work of Innovation Relay Centres and the services they can provide for supporting technology transfer. Another session will give participants details of the plans for the Fifth Framework Programme in the fields covered by the conference. Other seminars will look in detail at specific topics in the fields of electronic commerce and multimedia.
The parallel exhibition will feature a wide range of stands, allowing companies to present their products as well as services of interest to companies in the field.
