Info day on quality meat production, Poland

The Sixth Framework Programme (FP6) project QUALITYMEAT is organising an information day and brokerage event on 'Quality and safety meat production for the new Member States and candidate countries', to be held in Pulawy, Poland, on 7 and 8 June.

The aim of the event is to cover the whole poultry and pork meat production chain, and to encourage FP6 participation by the new Member States and candidate countries.

Topics will include:
- improving the quality of pork and pork products for the consumer;
- optimising food processing for nutritional and environmental quality;
- origin and development of unintended micro-organisms in the food and feed chains;
- emerging technologies for food/feed traceability including monitoring the manufacturing and handling practices in the total chain;
- quality and safety control strategies for food;
- management of waste from farms and fisheries;
- linking national research communities working on E. coli O157 research;
