Report on the consolidation of quantified sufficiency hypotheses in decarbonisation strategies

The report will present a set of up to 10 key sufficiency hypotheses (prospective quantification of the evolution of a considered indicator in time) in the five considered European countries. This work will be the result of an interdisciplinary dialogue to quantitatively integrate the results of SSH empirical studies from WP3,4, and T5.1 in the design of hypotheses used in bottom-up model for energy and climate scenarios.

Refinement of research design, including identification of key areas and examples for sufficiency lifestyles for analysis

It selects based on the outputs of T22 the most critical areas and examples for sufficiency lifestyles indicators that will be examined as part of WP3 to WP5 in the empirical work

Working paper with recommendations

The working paper will gather policy recommendations for the scaling-up and duplication of low-carbon practices developed and tested with various stakeholders (task 7.2).

Annotated literature review with a focus on the set of concepts forming the framework for analysis of lifestyle changes

Will provide a thorough review of the literature both academic and grey literature in the area of lifestyle change mechanisms and the origins evolution and potential role of the concept of sufficiency

Policy Brief on international dimension of sufficiency concepts with a focus on India

Will summarize the broader implications for the international dimension in a policy brief, i.e. on lessons to be learnt from experience and conceptualisation of sufficiency outside the EU

Evaluation of the communication strategy

This deliverable will be an assessment of the project communication activities to identify what strategies, activities and channels worked well and what did not, and identify the reasons for such outcomes so that they can feed into the communication strategy of future projects (task 8.1).

Report on vertical and horizontal multilevel-governance: 5 case studies

Case studies to describe the interdependencies between the different levels of sufficiency lifestyles: from individual to overarching policy making (Task 4.4)

Report on formalising an upscaling process: a systemic vision of micro-meso-macro interrelations

Systemic representation of the upscaling process in transforming lifestyles towards sufficiency, and identification of the role of public policies in this process.

Report on the in-depth biographical and systemic analysis of highly sufficient lifestyles

Systemic view of factors that enable or hinder sufficiency lifestyles (social frames: political and cultural) . Identification of socializing experiences that led to the genesis of dispositions for sufficiency. Identification of policies aimed at regulating the contexts in which dispositions for sufficiency can be activated or inhibited.

Guidance to design sufficiency policies (Task 4.4)

Report on long-term effects of sufficiency lifestyles and governance approaches for diffusion

This deliverable will present the findings from the second survey which uses an experimental approach to have an empirical basis for an estimation of the persistence of sufficiency lifestyle, spillover and rebound effects and the impact on the quality of life.

Reports on beyond GDP analysis

The report will present a combined indicator derived from the results of task 6.2 and inspired by the composite Sustainable Prosperity index (SPI) and the Environmental Burden Index (EBI) developed by CUSP

Qualitative evaluation of social impacts of up-scaled sufficiency action at the European level

The report will contain the semi-quantitative view of social impacts of up-scaled sufficiency action at the European level, by considering indicators related to the following area of study: 1) Energy poverty 2) Just transition 3) Health 4) Gender/Equality 5) Time consumption. Energy poverty reduction issues and health co-benefits will also be addressed

Report on the comparative analysis on sufficiency policies

This report will present the results of the comparative analysis of emblematic sufficiency policies that have been implemented or debated in different European countries. Results will include a list of barriers and enablers identified in thee processes as well as the role of national contexts.

Report on indicators and factors for the integration of energy sufficiency in models

The report will present a methodological approach to integrate sufficiency lifestyles in bottom-up models.

Operative definition and indicators for energy sufficiency

This task will aim at establishing an operative definition of sufficiency and a list of quantitative and qualitative indicators applicable in FULFILL to study lifestyle changes in relation to decarbonisation strategies

Policy brief on the main conclusions for the micro level

The policy brief is a short publication that highlights the key messages and recommendations of WP3

Report on the first survey and identification of the sufficiency groups

This deliverable will describe the findings from the first survey which provides a screening of sufficiency lifestyles to identify relevant groups to be studied in task 3.2.

Report on quantitative evaluation of the macroeconomic impacts of upscaled sufficiency action at the European level

For each single European country the report will contain a description of changes of standard economic indicators, direct and indirect GHG emissions and use of energy and resources, and an assessment of measures potential against Carbon budget commitment.

Report on municipal sufficiency strategies and policies

Identification of policies and other specific conditions fostering or hindering sufficiency (Task 4.2)

Policy brief on sufficiency as a lifestyle change contributing to decarbonisation

The policy brief is a short publication that highlights the key messages and recommendations of the project to policy makers aiming to inform future NDCs (task 7.2).

Summary report on potential contributions to NDCs and NECPs

The report will contain quantitative information with regard to the extent to which emissions reduction potentials, related to energy sufficiency measures, could contribute to the shaping of new and updated NDCs and NECPs for European countries

Report on citizen engagement activities

The report will present the process of citizen engagement activities in the project (incl. methodology, workshops, blog) and its outcomes. It will include the initial research led to organise these activities as well as citizens' contribution to FULFILL's policy recommendations (task 7.1).

List and short description of initiatives that comply with one or more of the identified sufficiency indicators Task 41

Synthesis report and input to further WP

This concluding deliverable of this WP has the objective to summarise the findings for the individual level, using a systemic perspective (i.e. identifying the micro-level factors that enable/hinder the transformation of lifestyles towards sufficiency and the possible meso/macro-level social frameworks that are analyzed in later steps).

Identification of interdependencies of sufficiency with regard to different aspects of sustainbility (e.g. social, gender, economic) (Task 4.3)

Report on transforming lifestyles towards sufficiency: macrolevel dynamics

This report will present the structural drivers and social determinants at play in the diffusion processes of sufficiency lifestyles. Comparison of the space of lifestyles within 6 countries ; Analysis of the social conditions of their structuring and transformation (inter and intra-group differentiation) ; Identification of significant macroframes.
