Periodic Reporting for period 1 - IN-4-AHA (Innovation Networks for Scaling Active and Healthy Ageing)
Reporting period: 2021-01-01 to 2021-12-31
EMPOWERING INNOVATION FOR AGEING
The Innovation Networks for Scaling Active and Healthy Ageing (IN-4-AHA), is an EU project that runs from January 2021 until January 2023, and is funded under Horizon 2020. The project focuses on the engagements of existing and needed mechanisms to empower the European Innovation Partnership on Active and Healthy Ageing (EIP on AHA) ecosystem and the cross-border scale-up of tested and ready-to-use applications towards healthcare. IN-4-AHA will build upon the legacy of the EIP on AHA ecosystem to advance digital innovation for the benefit of the silver economy. Besides coordinating and supporting the further scale-up of mechanisms provided by EIP on AHA and its stakeholders towards a more efficient uptake of innovation cycle in active and healthy ageing, the IN-4-AHA project will also engage with and bring together new supply and demand actors.
VALUABLE OUTCOME
The main outcome of the IN-4-AHA project is an innovation scale-up model that is validated by stakeholders and complemented by a clear implementation roadmap, an innovation impact evaluation toolkit and a strategy for long-term investments. The innovation scale-up model should lead to the organizational and behavioural change in respective authorities to meet the needs of suppliers and demand-side and help innovative solutions reach the community with shorter time.
Please be advised that the eventual outcomes of the project reflect only the author’s view. The European Commission accepts no responsibility for the contents and results of any work carried out under this project.
The project has 7 work packages (WP):
WP1 Project Management and Coordination; WP2 Market Enablers, Policies and Demand; WP3 Co-designing AHA Innovation Model; WP4 Service Tests and Adoption; WP5 Innovation Impact Evaluation; WP6 Long-term Investment Strategy; WP7 Dissemination and Communication.

OVERALL OBJECTIVE | coordination and support to the further scale-up mechanisms provided by EIP on AHA, and its stakeholders towards more efficient uptake of innovations in active and healthy ageing.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVE | develop a practical validated innovation scale-up model to facilitate the scale-up of innovative solutions across EU in active and healthy ageing supported by:
-The efficient engagement and active contributions from stakeholders’ network and ecosystem. The engagement activities are on-going and will continue until the end of the project.
-The spill-over of actionable knowledge into practical tools for EIP on AHA and its Reference Sites.
-The roadmap to implement the change and boost the scale-up.
-The Investment strategy.
During the first 12 months we have organised 21 events (kick off meeting, monthly webinars, workshops) with more than 1260 participants and with more than 760 views of the event recordings after the project. Beside workshops we have organised 17 different feedback activities (focus groups, interviews, surveys, questionnaires, scale up program) with 490 participants.
In the beginning of the project, we have invited EIP on AHA stakeholders from the previous CSA mailing list to join the IN-4-AHA database, also new stakeholders have been targeted and so far, we have developed a database with 500 active stakeholders. The aim is to increase the number of our direct info receivers and eventually by the end of the project support the transition of the stakeholders to Futurium as the AHA community platform supported by EC (European Commission). We are engaging the AHA community through EIP on AHA communication channels (Twitter, LinkedIn), through Futurium, IN-4-AHA social media and networks of consortium partners. Consortium partners have made more than 680 post in social media (FB, LinkedIn, Twitter), on webpage/subpages, campaigns, newsletters. Representatives of partners have taken part as speakers or contributors of 15 other event, workshop, conference, and meeting to attract wider public and introduce the IN-4-AHA project activities (open call, testing activity, scale up program, data management activities).
We are actively working to achieve all of our objectives and to do so we engage stakeholders to actively participate in the co-creation of different tools together with IN-4-AHA consortium via thematic co-creation workshops under each work package. The project brings together supply and demand actors to create a sustainable model for innovation scale-up. Once the outputs have been finalised, they will be shared openly and widely to all stakeholders and the final conference of IN-4-AHA project will be organised during the last months of 2022.

The focus of the first year has been the engagement and active contributions from stakeholders' network and ecosystem. So far 11 outputs have been created but this work is mainly preparation and input into the outputs that are delivered during the second part of the project.
It is possible to evaluate the achievement of objectives at the end of the second year, once the main outputs (AHA innovation scale up model, long term investment plan, evaluation toolbox, data management guidelines etc.) have been co-created and disseminated to the stakeholders, and the results of the twinning and testing activities finalised. Our aim is that the outputs have been co-created with different stakeholders (EIPonAHA community, Reference Sites etc.) and these tools will provide the Reference Sites, as main actors in delivery of innovations to the end-user, the roadmap with instructions, guidelines and indicators for monitoring the progress to influence the rate of scaled innovations for active and healthy ageing across the EU.
